Fort Lewis will be the first women’s 4-year school to play this season when the Skyhawks and their new coach, Lauren Davis Zuniga, play at an exhibition game against Pima Community College on Saturday in Window Rock, Ariz.
Zuniga is one of three new women’s coaches leading 4-year programs in Colorado. A Loveland, Colo., native, Davis Zuniga coached the three previous seasons at Northwest Community College in Wyoming.
Stacy McIntyre will start her first season at Air Force, where the Falcons play for the first time for her on October 28 when the Academy hosts MSU Denver. McIntyre takes over the head coaching duties at the Academy, where she spent nine seasons as an assistant under Chris Gobrecht and the last five as associate head coach.
Carissa Ratliff is the interim coach at Colorado Christian. She’ll be on the bench guiding the Cougars for the first time when the Colorado Christian plays at Denver on November 4. Ratliff, the all-time leading scorer at Calvin College in Michigan, has been at CCU since 2017, assisting in basketball and track.

As for returning players on Colorado collegiate rosters, 24 who averaged ten or more points for their team are back at their school for the 2024-2025 campaign. A 25th, Hannah Simental, is playing at Colorado State after starting her collegiate career at Northern Colorado, where she averaged 12.6 points a game last season and was a second-team All-Big Sky Conference performer for the Bears. Simental is also one of five Colorado collegiate players who have scored over 1,000 career points.

- At the end of the 2022-2023 RMAC season, Fry was named the league’s top player, and Reed was the freshman of the year.
- Little missed the season due to childbirth after being an All-RMAC first-team pick for the 2021-2022 campaign.
Colorado College’s Zoë Tomlinson is another top returnee this season. The senior Tiger is the reigning Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference POW and a two-time first-team all-league pick.
- Aniah Hall of UNC was an honorable mention of All-Big Sky last season.
- Denver’s Jordan Jones (second team) and Emma Smith (honorable mention) received All-Summit League recognition.
- Frida Formann of Colorado was an honorable mention in All-Pac12.
- Air Force’s Madison Smith (all-defensive) and Jayda McNabb (all-freshman) were honored during the 2023-2024 Mountain West post-season.
