Alejandro Mata (special teams) of Colorado, Cody Ramming (special teams) of CSU Pueblo, and Western Colorado’s Josiah Ayon (offense) and Ricky Freymond (defense) earned conference Player-of-the-Week honors this week from the Big XII and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Alejandro Mata Mata was perfect on all six kicks in CU’s win at Arizona, accounting for 10 points. The junior connected on field goal attempts from 28 and 34 yards and was a perfect four-for-four on extra points. Mata’s six makes helped Colorado win a second consecutive road game by 27 or more points for the first time since 1987 while aiding the Buffaloes to become the first Big 12 team to win back-to-back conference road games by 27 or more points since Oklahoma in 2015. Josiah Ayon Ayon’s four touchdown receptions – all in the final 21:32 – keyed the Mountaineers 35-24 comeback win at home versus South Dakota Mines. The four TD receptions tied Division II’s single-game best this season.
