Colorado Mesa hosts RMAC baseball tournament

After claiming the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season title by two games over Regis with a 26-4 record, Colorado Mesa hosts the league’s postseason tournament starting Wednesday at The Diamond at the Bus Bergman Sports Complex in Grand Junction.  READ MORE

Ranked 12th nationally, the Mavericks (36-11) will be challenged by UC Colorado Springs (23-24) at 3 p.m. in the six-school double-elimination event that opens with Colorado State University Pueblo (32-18) meeting Metropolitan State University of Denver (30-20) at 11 a.m.  The opening day schedule concludes when Regis (34-14) plays Adams State at 7 p.m.

The tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II South Central Regional playoffs. Mesa has won 13 consecutive RMAC regular-season titles and has played in 15 straight NCAAs.
