The University of Colorado men’s basketball team dropped its first game in Australia on Thursday as the Buffs were defeated 93-87 by the Boomers, the country’s national team. READ MORE
Being played at the Gold Coast Sports & Leisure Centre near Brisbane, freshman reserve guard Isaiah Johnson led CU with 19 points. Sophomore forward Sebastian Rancik added 16 points while grabbing five rebounds.
Graduate center Elijah Malone had 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds. The Buffs also got double-figure scoring from guards junior Barrington Hargress (11) and freshman Jalin Holland (10).
CU’s final game in Australia is Monday (7 p.m. on Sunday in Boulder) against the Sydney Kings.
