Landon Walker of Colorado Mines is this week’s NFF Colorado Chapter Player of the Week.
Walker was one of three nominees for this week’s honor, including wide receiver Dedrek Taylor-Akins of CSU Pueblo and linebacker Hudson Voggesser of Northern Colorado.
The recipient is determined by a vote by the members of the NFF Colorado Chapter’s board of directors and representatives from College Sports Communicators at the 10 schools that compete in college football in the state of Colorado. STATISTICAL LEADERS / COMBINED STATISTICS

Honored as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s offensive player of the week on Monday, Walker finished with 220 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in Mines’ 41-27 victory over Washburn in Golden.
A senior running back from Fort Worth, Texas, Walker rushed for a career-high 199 rushing yards and two touchdowns against the Ichabods. He had a two-yard run in the first quarter and then gave the Orediggers a 34-13 lead in the third quarter with a 75-yard touchdown run.

Playing without two of its top receivers and a third receiver who was injured during the game, Taylor-Akins came off the bench to catch seven passes for a career-high 170 yards in CSU Pueblo’s 29-24 win at Central Missouri last Thursday in Warrensburg.
A 6-4 junior wide receiver from Fontana, Calif., Taylor-Akins had three catches of 20 yards or more. The 170 receiving yards are also the eighth-most in a game by a Pack player in school history.

Named the Big Sky Conference’s defensive player of the week on Monday, Voggesser turned in a career performance on the road against No. 20/12 South Dakota, recording a game-high 16 total tackles (seven solo).
A junior linebacker from Fort Collins, Voggesser added 0.5 tackles for loss for two yards and a quarterback hurry in the Bears’ 24-17 overtime setback in South Dakota.
