It was a long Saturday for Colorado-based men’s collegiate teams, as none of the four schools playing won, and Colorado Mesa fell in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship game, while Air Force, Colorado, and Colorado dropped regular-season finales.

Colorado Mesa (21-10) dropped an 89-77 decision in the RMAC finale to 13th-ranked Black Hills State University in Spearfish, S.D.  The Yellow Jackets’ win on Saturday was their third over Mesa this season and the second in the last eight days over the Mavericks in Spearfish.  CMU WEB ARTICLE

Despite the setback, Colorado Mesa is still in the running for an NCAA Division II Championship bid.  The selection show is at 9 p.m. on Sunday. BRACKET

In Mountain West Conference play on Saturday, Colorado State (20-11) dropped a 78-67 decision in Fort Collins while Air Force (3-28) fell 74-59 to Nevada in Reno.  In a nationally-televised game in Boulder, second-ranked Arizona posted an 89-79 win over Colorado (17-14).  AIR FORCE WEB ARTICLE / CU WEB ARTICLE / CSU WEB ARTICLE

With those results, the 12th-seeded Air Force gets a rematch with Nevada in Las Vegas on Wednesday, while seventh-seeded CSU plays later in the day against Fresno State.  BRACKET In the Big XII, 11th-seeded Colorado plays Oklahoma State on Tuesday in Kansas City.
