CU finishes 2nd and DU 3rd in NCAA Skiing Championships

For the second straight year, Colorado finished second in the NCAA Skiing Championship, which this year was won by host team Utah. The University of Denver placed third, edging out fourth-place Montana State. This tight competition was one of the closest in history, as Utah won by 10.5 points, which is the second closest since 1998 behind CU’s 2024 win by just two points. Colorado did not have the highest team score in any of the eight races (slalom and giant slalom for Alpine, classic and freestyle for Nordic) between the men and women, but the depth and balance of CU put them in a position to nearly win the title. The Buffs finished with 59 podiums by individuals, nearly equal to the total of the next two schools combined (Utah 42, DU 23).  READ MORE

During the four-day competition, a total of 14 Buffs were named All-Americans. Tilde Baangman, a senior from Sweden, closed out her collegiate career with second-team honors, and will leave as a four-time All-American. She had 19 podium finishes in her career 25 races as a Buff.  Jakob Moch, a highly decorated freshman from Germany, collected two All-American honors.

Mia Hunt

The Pioneers finished with three First Team All-American honors, all on the women’s side, with two of those belonging to Mia Hunt and the third to freshman Synne Bollingmo. Hunt was competing in her hometown, and added to her trophy collection as last season she was a two-time second team All-American.
