Wayne Cavadi is out with his DII Report™️: The preseason DII football Power 10 rankings, and Western Colorado is listed ninth, and two-time reigning CSU Pueblo “just missed” making the “preseason Power 10.”
The DII football preseason Power 10
1. Ferris State (team report).
2. Kutztown (team report).
3. Harding (team report).
4. Minnesota State (team report).
5. Northwest Missouri State (team report).
6. Pittsburg State (team report).
7. Grand Valley State (team report).
8. UIndy (team report).
9. Western Colorado (team report). This is where it gets dicey. Almost all of the teams vying for these final two spots have undergone significant change this offseason, whether in the coaching carousel, at quarterback, or both. Western Colorado sneaks in ahead of a team like Central Washington because at least the Mountaineers have their 16-year head coach Jas Bains back, while the Wildcats lost way too much. This is a team that has one of the best defenses in the RMAC annually, and he should be able to lead them to that once again. The question will be how many points the Mountaineers can score.
10. Northeastern State (team report).
Just missed: Ashland, Central Washington, CSU Pueblo, Findlay, Indiana (PA)
Three to watch: Augustana (SD), Slippery Rock, Wingate
