CSU Pueblo, Western Colorado NCAA D2 Football projections

After a week chock-full of upsets, the DII football top 25 by Wayne Cavadi went chalk… but that doesn’t mean the bracket projection didn’t change.

Here is the Super Region 4 update with Colorado State University Pueblo and Western Colorado University listed.  Both schools join the rest of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with a “bye” week on October 10.

  • CSU Pueblo and Western Colorado are two of the 15 undefeated teams in NCAA Division II with 6-0 records.  The two schools are tied atop the RMAC standings at 4-0.  The two teams meet November 14 in Pueblo in the regular-season finale.
  • After rolling up a school-record 827 yards of total offense and scoring on 12 possessions in its 72-7 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference victory at Adams State, CSU Pueblo is the second-ranked offensive team in NCAA Division by averaging 552.8 yards per game.  The ThunderWolves are seventh in passing (318.8 yards per game), 18th in rushing (234.0 yards per game), and ninth in scoring (44.0 points per contest).  The Pack rank 37th in total defense (316.0 yards per game allowed).
  • Saturday’s victory extended the CSU Pueblo’s NCAA Division II-best conference win streak to 29 consecutive games and its NCAA Division II-best road win streak to 18 straight games. It was also the Pack’s 15th straight regular-season victory, dating back to last season.
  • Western Colorado trailed New Mexico Highlands 17-0 on Saturday in Las Vegas before scoring 52 straight points in the Mountaineers’ 52-24 victory over the Cowboys.  The Gunnison crew is 11th nationally in scoring (43.0 points per game), 24th in total offense (438.2 yards), and 42nd in total defense (321.2 yards a contest).
