Regis University has clinched the men’s and women’s regular-season soccer titles, earning top seeds in the postseason tournaments that award automatic berths in the NCAA Division II Championships.
The 15th-ranked Regis men (8-1-1, 11-3-3 overall) tied second-ranked Colorado State Pueblo (7-0-3, 13-0-3) in the men’s standings with 85.0 winning percentages, but the Rangers claimed the title with more points (25-24).
On Wednesday, Regis’s 5-1 win over Colorado Mines earned the Rangers three points, while CSU Pueblo tied UCCS 0-0 in Colorado Springs to gain only one point. On October 2 in Pueblo, the Rangers tied the Pack 1-1.
The 16th-ranked Regis women (11-0-1, 15-2-1) out-pointed UCCS (9-2-1, 13-3-2) to win the regular-season title, earn the top seed in the post-season, and secure home-field advantage. The Rangers, who defeated UCCS 2-0 on October 4 in Denver, had only one league blemish with a 1-1 home tie with Colorado Mesa on October 25.
UCCS (men) and Colorado School of Mines (women) are the defending tournament champions.
