Regis and Colorado School of Mines Claim 2026 RMAC Soccer Tournament Crowns

Drama and high-powered offense highlighted a thrilling Saturday of postseason soccer at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Championships. At Regis Turf Field, the top-seeded Regis University men’s team rolled to a dominant victory to capture the tournament title, while the Colorado School of Mines women’s squad clinched their third consecutive conference championship in dramatic fashion via penalty kicks.

Men’s Final: Regis 4, Fort Lewis 1

The No. 1 seed Regis University Rangers capped off a stellar championship run by defeating No. 3 seed Fort Lewis College 4–1 on their home turf. The victory marks the program’s third conference tournament title and its first since 2013, earning the Rangers an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Championship.

After a tightly contested opening half-hour where defenses reigned, the Rangers exploded with three goals in a blistering 15-minute window before halftime:

  • 31st Minute: Matys Price broke the ice with a strike into the upper-right corner to put Regis ahead 1–0.

  • 38th Minute: RMAC Player of the Year Jacobo Betancourt-Tovar doubled the lead with his league-leading 12th goal of the season.

  • 39th Minute: Just 46 seconds later, tournament MVP Blaise Richard found the lower-left corner to stretch the margin to 3–0.

Michael Ajagbe added a fourth goal for Regis in the 50th minute. Though Fort Lewis got on the board in the 72nd minute with a goal from Cameron Martin, RMAC Goalkeeper of the Year Zach Jennings and the Regis defense locked down the remainder of the match to secure the 4–1 final.

Women’s Final: Colorado School of Mines 1, Colorado Mesa 1 (4-3 PKs)

For the third straight season and the 12th time in program history, the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers sit atop the RMAC. In a battle against Colorado Mesa University, regulation and two 10-minute golden-goal overtime periods weren’t enough to settle the score, forcing a dramatic penalty shootout.

  • First Half Action: Colorado Mesa struck first in the 18th minute when Angelina Kazinec capitalized on a long pass from Jenelle Arenibas to break past the defense. Mines responded quickly when tournament MVP Bella Campos delivered a cross to Caelan DeBolt, who headed home the equalizer.

  • Overtime & Shootout: After 110 minutes of scoreless defensive battles and extra time, the match moved to penalty kicks. After clutch conversions from Campos and DeBolt, Bella Torres slotted home the decisive penalty kick, sealing a 4–3 shootout win and the conference crown for the Orediggers.
