In the first of three games to determine the winner of the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy, the Air Force hosts the undefeated Navy Midshipmen on Saturday.  CBS will nationally televise the game with a 10 a.m. kickoff at Falcon Stadium

Air Force was defeated by Wyoming 31-19 last week. Navy is currently 4-0 for the first time since 2017. This is the first time since 1945 that Army and Navy started 4-0.  Air Force has won the last four games against Navy and leads the series 34-22.

Air Force, which is 1-3 this season with setbacks in the last three games at home against San Jose State, and on the road at Baylor and Wyoming, is led this season by wide receiver Cade Harris and quarterback John Busha in rushing. Harris has 25 rushes for 147 yards. John Busha has 57 rushes for 128 yards.

Navy is led in rushing this season by their quarterback Blake Horvath, who has run the ball 47 times for 450 yards. In the passing game, Horvath is 30-44 for 637 yards. Stopping Horvath will not be an easy task for the Falcons.  READ MORE

With Colorado idle this week, here are the other games for the Colorado-based colleges and universities playing football this Saturday.

Colorado Mines at Colorado Mesa, 1 p.m. (RMAC Net) – Colorado Mesa looks to snap a two-game losing streak against Colorado Mines. Colorado Mines is looking to win 25 straight regular season games. Colorado Mesa leads the series 31-16. In home games last week, Colorado Mines defeated Black Hills State 52-24, and Colorado Mesa downed Chadron State 18-3. Max McLeod caught nine passes for 89 yards and three touchdowns, and he is only the second receiver in Colorado Mines history to pass 4,000 career receiving yards.  Evan Foster threw for six touchdowns, which is a career-high. Five came in the first quarter; he is only the fourth quarterback in Division II history to pass for five touchdowns in a single quarter. The Mesa offense was led by Aiden Taylor last week, who rushed for 116 yards.

New Mexico Highlands at CSU Pueblo, 2 p.m. (RMAC Net) – After an impressive showing against Adams State last week, CSU Pueblo looks to do the same against New Mexico Highlands in a homecoming game at the ThunderBowl. Last week, CSU Pueblo defeated Adams State 66-10. CSU Pueblo quarterback Devin Larsen is second in Division II with 1,521 passing yards and 15 touchdowns. Last week, CSU Pueblo had a season-high 718 yards of offense.

Adams State at Chadron State, 12 p.m. (RMAC Net) – After an 0-4 start, Adams State is looking for its first win against Chadron State. Last week, Adams State was defeated by CSU Pueblo 66-10. Adams State had a strong start with a 10-8 lead in the first quarter and could not stop the Pack offense in the next three quarters. Adams State has never defeated Chadron State on the road.  In his first game as the Adams State quarterback, Alexander Grado completed 12 passes for 82 yards.

Northern Colorado at Montana State, 2 p.m. (ESPN+) – Northern Colorado wants to avoid losing 18 straight games. Montana State leads the series 23-10-1. Last week, Northern Colorado was defeated by Cal Poly 28-7. Ranked third nationally in the Football Championship Subdivision, Montana State is 5-0 and posted an opening win at New Mexico from the Football Bowl Subdivision. Kia Keone had 160 of Northern Colorado’s offensive yards last week, including 16 rushes for 55 yards and 14 of 20 passing for 115 yards.

Colorado State at Oregon State, 4:30 p.m. (CW) – After being idle last week, the Rams return from their bye week as they travel to Corvallis for a showdown with the Oregon State Beavers of the PAC 12. The Rams lead the series 2-1. The Beavers also had a bye week last week. Receiver Tory Horton and safety Jack Howell hope to play this weekend. Tory Horton is Colorado State’s leading receiver. Avery Morrow and Justin Marshall lead the Rams in rushing. Marshall has 63 attempts for 270 yards, and Morrow has 29 for 250 yards.

Fort Lewis at Western Colorado, 6 p.m. (RMAC Net) – Western Colorado wants to continue its undefeated season against Fort Lewis. Fort Lewis has lost 34 RMAC games and is looking to snap that streak. Western Colorado leads the series 45-17. Last week, Fort Lewis was defeated by South Dakota Mines 49-33, and Western Colorado downed New Mexico Highlands 53-12. Josiah Roy had 155 yards and one touchdown passing as he came in to replace starter Drew Nash early in the second quarter. Kaiden Hernandez had 118 yards rushing. Royce Pao only had 74 yards rushing, but he scored three touchdowns.
