
Quarterback Drew Nash of Western Colorado is the first recipient of the Colorado Chapter of the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame Player of the Week for the 2025 collegiate season.
A 6-2, 215-pound senior from Torrance, Calif., Nash is the sixth player from Western Colorado to earn NFFCC Player of the Week honors since the program’s inception in 2003, and the first Mountaineer since the 2023 campaign.
Nash, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s top quarterback last season, was honored twice previously as a POW by the NFF’s Colorado Chapter for his play during the 2023 season, when he led Western Colorado to its first of two-straight NCAA Division II playoff appearances. NFFCC POW HISTORY
In leading eighth-ranked Western Colorado to a 45-28 win over Western Texas A&M in Gunnison this past Saturday, Nash had a hand in five of the Mountaineers’ six touchdowns, tossing three and running for two. In finishing as the game’s top rusher, Nash had 95 yards on the ground in 14 runs while completing 18 of 28 passes for 190 yards and no interceptions.
In 25 career games at Western Colorado, Nash has amassed 6,301 total yards for the Mountaineers and accounted for 61 touchdowns. He has passed for 5,313 yards and 47 scores while rushing for 988 yards and 14 TDs.

Mafileo Tupou, junior Adams State linebacker from Riverside, Calif. – In Adams State’s 35-21 setback at Western New Mexico, he had a game-high 16 tackles, including 12 solo stops. In his first game for the Grizzlies, he had a tackle for loss (9 yards) and recorded a crucial third-down sack (9 yards)

Cade Harris, a senior Air Force wide receiver from South Weber, Utah, led the Falcons to a 49-13 home win over Bucknell. He recorded 149 all-purpose yards, including 66 yards rushing and two touchdowns, and 83 yards receiving on three catches and one score. The three scores were the most by a Falcon in a game since 2023. Seven of his 11 offensive touches went for first downs or touchdowns, as the 62-yard receiving touchdown was the second-longest of his career.

Martavius French, graduate student, Colorado linebacker from Memphis, Tenn. – In the Buffs’ 27-20 setback to visiting Georgia Tech, he was at the center of Colorado’s defensive effort, recording six total tackles and registering one and a half tackles for loss. He also provided two of the game’s most enormous momentum swings, recovering two fumbles in the first quarter, the first of his career, to halt Georgia Tech drives and give the Buffaloes prime field position.

Trek Keyworth, a sophomore Colorado Mesa wide receiver from Windsor, Colo. – During Colorado Mesa’s 41-14 setback at Central Washington, Keyworth had a big game receiving in the season opener against No. 21 Central Washington with four catches for 147 yards (both career-highs) and a touchdown. His touchdown came in the fourth quarter on a 66-yard catch and run.

Jalen Dupree, a freshman Colorado State running back from Benton, Ark. – In the Rams’ 38-21 setback at Washington, Depress logged a career-high 92 rushing yards and a touchdown in his first-career start. His touchdown came on a 15-yard carry to tie the game before halftime. He also caught two passes for three yards. On Monday, Dupress was named the Mountain West Conference’s Freshman of the Week.

Reggie Retzlaff, a senior wide receiver from Corona, Calif., at CSU Pueblo – In leading sixth-ranked CSU Pueblo to a 43-0 win at home against RMAC rival South Dakota Mines, Retzlaff caught six passes for 99 yards and had two touchdown receptions of 12 yards and 34 yards. The two TD receptions helped Retzlaff become CSU Pueblo’s all-time leader in TD catches with 26. He broke the record with his 12-yard TD pass just five minutes into the game. With his six catches for 99 yards against South Dakota Mines, Retzlaff moved into fourth on the school’s all-time pass reception list with 121 and is third in career pass receiving yards with 2,132. He is also currently tied for first among active Division II players in TD receptions with 26. The two-touchdown game marked the ninth time in his ThunderWolves career that he has caught at least two touchdown passes in a game.

Jake Penney, junior Fort Lewis inside linebacker from Sparks, Nev. – Despite Fort Lewis’ 34-14 defeat to Williams Jewell, Penney led the Skyhawk defense with 14 total tackles, including 10 solo tackles, four assisted tackles, and 0.5 tackles for 1 yard lost. After finishing 5th in NCAA DII with 122 total tackles last season, Penney picked right up where he left off, racking up the 2nd-most total tackles and solo tackles in the RMAC and the state of Colorado, and tied for the 7th-most total tackles and 5th-most total tackles in DII through the opening weekend of college football. He recorded his 10th career game with 10+ tackles and his second career game with 10+ solo tackles. Near single-handedly stalled out a WJC drive in the fourth quarter, making a solo tackle, assisted tackle, and another solo tackle in succession to force a 3-and-out. After Saturday, Penney now boasts 216 career tackles and sits 52 tackles outside of Fort Lewis’ top 10 all-time tackles through just 23 career games. Penney moved up to 7th all-time in career solo tackles (151) for Skyhawks football. He chases Shane Voss’ (1990-1993) program record of 196 by just 45 solo tackles.

Peter Costelli, junior Northern Colorado quarterback from San Pedro, Calif. – In leading the Bears to a 17-3 win over Chadron State in Greeley, Costelli finished the day with 92 passing yards (6-12), one passing touchdown, and zero interceptions, along with 42 yards rushing and a rushing score.
