Colorado’s three public universities have reached the 20-win mark this season as the women’s teams from Colorado, Colorado State, and Northern Colorado posted wins on Saturday to improve their postseason credentials.
Colorado (10-5 Big XII Conference, 20-8) won its fifth-straight game by defeating 20th-ranked Texas Tech 75-68 in Boulder. The Buffs are now 4-4 against ranked opponents this season, having won eight of their last 10 games. READ MORE
Colorado State (12-5 Mountain West Conference, 21-7) completed a season sweep of its border rival as the Rams posted a 62-48 win over Wyoming in Laramie. It was CSU’s first regular-season sweep of the Cowgirls since the 2020-2021 season. READ MORE
Northern Colorado (11-4 Big Sky Conference, 20-8) reached the 20-win mark for the first time since the 2018-2019 campaign as the Bears posted an 81-53 victory over Northern Arizona in Flagstaff. READ MORE
While UNC was achieving 20 wins for the first time in six seasons, CU and CSU were reaching the 20-win mark for the fifth straight season. Since the 2020-2021 season, Colorado is 112-49 (69.6 winning percentage), and CSU is 104-52 (66.7%).
In the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, fourth-ranked Colorado Mesa (18-0, 28-1) won its 25th-straight game with a 73-41 win over Western Colorado (12-6, 14-10) to secure the No. 1 seed for the post-season tournament at begins on March 3 at campus sites. RMAC SCHEDULE
The Mavericks have posted the most wins and compiled the best winning percentage among Centennial State schools with a 114-37 record (75.5%). Mesa has won 35 straight regular-season RMAC games since losing to Regis (63-61) in December 2024.
Joining the Mavericks in the RMAC postseason will be Adams State (14-4, 20-8), UCCS (13-5, 17-9), Black Hills State (13-5, 16-9), Western Colorado, and MSU Denver (12-6, 14-12). The six schools all have an opportunity to host a quarterfinal game in the postseason, entering the final week of the regular season.
Vying for the last final two berths in the RMAC eight-season postseason playoffs are three Centennial State schools – Fort Lewis (9-9, 16-10), CSU Pueblo (9-9, 13-13), and Colorado Mines (9-9, 14-15). Also in contention is New Mexico Highlands (8-10, 12-13).
Colorado College (15-1, 20-5) reached the 20-win mark on Sunday by posting an 82-53 win over LeTourneau in Colorado Springs. The Tigers have won 20 or more victories the last three seasons and are 98-37 since the start of the 2021-2022 campaign. READ MORE
The Tigers have clinched the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference gold division and are currently ranked as the top team in NCAA Division III Region 10. The SCAC postseason will be held Friday through Sunday in Conway, Ark. CC earned a first-round bye and will meet the winner of the Hendrix/McMurry matchup at 4 p.m on Saturday.
