West scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Northern Colorado (23-10) led 48-33 at intermission and led by 10 points (69-59) with 6:36 left in the game before an 11-2 Air Force (16-19) run to cut the deficit to one point (71-70) with 2:48 remaining. AFA WEB ARTICLE
Behind West, UNC outscored the Falcons 10-2 down the stretch. West scored four points on a pair of free throws and a rebound basket to give UNC a 75-70 lead with 1:36 left.
The game was the career finale for Milahnie Perry as she scored only six points in 17 minutes of action. Perry finished her career as the Air Force’s all-time scoring leader with 1,838 points in 127 games (14.5 average). Her career total ranks 22nd all-time among women’s collegiate players in the state of Colorado.
An all-Mountain West Conference performer, Perry led Air Force to a second-place finish in the league’s postseason tournament, where she scored a record 92 points in four games.
