- Krissie Sanders (Hurdles): One of the nation’s premier athletes, Sanders is ranked in the top five nationally for the 400m hurdles after setting a school and RMAC meet record of 58.11s. She also holds a top national provisional mark in the 100m hurdles (13.76s).
- Kaya Pillivant (Distance): A distance standout who captured the RMAC 10,000m title with a personal best and NCAA provisional qualifying time of 35:40.13.
- Ayianna Johnson (Throws): The RMAC Champion in the discus, Johnson secured her title with a toss of 47.72m, which ranks as a top NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
- Brooke Peterson (Pole Vault): Peterson followed her indoor conference title with an RMAC outdoor title in the pole vault, clearing 3.82m.
- Payton Rodgers (Jumps): A top scorer in the jumps, Rodgers earned a silver medal at the conference meet in the triple jump with an NCAA provisional mark of 12.25m.
The Western Colorado Mountaineers are led by national-caliber distance runners and a dominant throws squad. The team recently competed at the 2026 RMAC Outdoor Championships (April 24–26), where both the men and women secured third-place team finishes.
Top Men’s Performers
- Tyler Nord (Distance): Nord is a top-tier national performer, currently ranked 3rd nationally in the 1,500m (3:41.22) and 4th nationally in the 5,000m (13:34.12). He earned First Team All-RMAC honors in the 1,500m last month.
- Simon Kelati (Distance): A senior leader ranked 11th nationally in the 5,000m (13:51.02) and 13th nationally in the 10,000m (29:11.45).
- Malcom Wesley (Jumps): The team’s top jumper, ranked in the national top 15 for the long jump with a season-best mark of 7.52m.
- Eddie Siuda (Steeplechase): Leads the men’s steeple crew, ranking 18th nationally with a time of 8:56.45.
- Logan Butterfield (Throws): The Mountaineers’ top hammer thrower, consistently placing on the podium and ranking in the national top 30 with a mark of 58.42m.
Top Women’s Performers
- Leah Taylor (Steeplechase/Distance): Taylor is one of the premier steeplechasers in NCAA Division II, currently ranked 2nd nationally with a school-record time of 10:04.22. She also won the RMAC individual title in the 1,500m and ranks in the national top 10 for that event.
- Ali Aldrich (Throws): A consistent national threat, Aldrich leads the Mountaineers in the shot put and discus. She recently secured Second Team All-RMAC honors in the shot put (14.65m) and ranks in the top 20 nationally.
- Eisley Huelskamp (Multi/Hurdles): A standout freshman who captured the RMAC Heptathlon title with a school-record 5,148 points. She also consistently scores in the high jump and 100m hurdles.
- Myia Dantzler (Sprints): The leading sprinter for the women, Dantzler ranks 14th nationally in the 100m dash (11.64) and leads the team in the 200m.
- Allison Beasley (Distance): A key part of the distance core, ranked 5th nationally in the 10,000m run (34:11.45) and a top competitor in the 5,000m.
