CSU Pueblo Pack Athletics: Championship Chases and Season Openers Highlight Thrilling Fall Schedule

As the autumn air cools, excitement is reaching a fever pitch across the Colorado State University Pueblo campus. The ThunderWolves’ football and men’s soccer teams are locked in intense battles for Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference titles over the next three weeks, while the men’s and women’s basketball teams prepare to tip off an eagerly anticipated campaign.

Football Eyes Home Stretch at the ThunderBowl

The undefeated, nationally ranked CSU Pueblo football team is charging down the final stretch of its regular season, with two of its last three games taking place at the friendly confines of the ThunderBowl.  A November 7 game at South Dakota Mines in Rapid City sits between the two contests.

The excitement peaks with a spooky Halloween clash against Black Hills State on October 31, followed by a crucial home matchup against Western Colorado on November 14. Both contests kick off at 1 p.m., setting the stage for high-stakes collegiate football as the Pack pursues RMAC supremacy.

Men’s Soccer Unbeaten Run Leads the RMAC

Not to be outdone, the CSU Pueblo men’s soccer team has put together a sensational, unbeaten campaign. With a stellar 13-0-2 overall record and a national ranking, the Pack sits atop the RMAC standings with a 7-0-2 conference mark.

The team will look to cap off its remarkable regular season on Wednesday with a road showdown against UCCS, slated for a 6 p.m. kickoff as it hunts the conference crown.

With a spot secured for the RMAC playoffs November 1-8,  the Pack’s only challengers for the regular-season title are Regis (9-3-3, 6-1-1 RMAC) and Fort Lewis (9-4-2, 6-2 RMAC).  CSU Pueblo tied Regis in Pueblo 1-1 on October 2.  The ThunderWolves defeated Fort Lewis twice, 3-1 non-league on September 20 in Durango and 2-0 in Pueblo on October 11 in a league match.

Men’s Basketball Prepares for Massari Arena Tipoff

As the fall sports season nears its climax, hardwood action is just around the corner. Picked second in the preseason RMAC poll, the CSU Pueblo men’s basketball team is gearing up to launch its season right at home inside Massari Arena.

The ThunderWolves will host Midwestern State (Texas) on November 13 and Cameron (Oklahoma) on November 14. Both games start at 6 p.m., giving fans an action-packed mid-November weekend of Pack basketball.

Massari Madness Thursday

Prior to the opening games, the men’s and women’s basketball teams host Massari Madness on Thursday at 7 p.m.  The women’s basketball team is projected seventh in the RMAC poll and opens its season on November 13 and 14 in Lubbock, Texas, before returning home on November 20 and 22 to host Western New Mexico and Chadron State, respectively.
