A sophomore defensive lineman from Tallahassee, Fla., Ochoa was credited with one sack (13 yards) and one forced fumble in Adams State’s 72-7 setback to CSU Pueblo in Alamosa. The sack and forced fumble led to the Grizzlies’ only score in the game.
A senior linebacker from Racine, Wis.,
Fletcher had a career-high 10 tackles (six solos)in the Air Force’s 14-9 win over Navy at Falcon Stadium. He has had 10-plus tackles and led the team in tackles in all four games this season. Three of his tackles came on third down, forcing fourth downs as the Falcon defense held Navy to just 11 first downs and a 1-11 effort on third down. The Air Force win snapped a five-game losing streak in service academy games and puts the Falcons one win away from the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy.
With a career-high six tackles in Colorado Mesa’s 30-20 win over Chadron State at Grand Junction,
Dimry-Lockhart finished with two sacks (18 yards) and a forced fumble. The junior defensive lineman from Lewisville, Texas, had his second sack on the final play of the game.
A junior running back from Austin, Texas, Barnes rushed 16 times for 147 yards and two touchdowns in leading Colorado Mines to a 38-13 win over Black Hills State in Golden.
Against a Yellow Jacket team off to a 4-1 start and allowing only 86 rushing yards per game this season, Barnes ripped off 49- and 37-yard touchdown runs. He also caught one pass for seven yards.
In fourth-ranked CSU Pueblo’s 72-7 win at Adams State,
Smith was 8-for-8 on extra points and made three field goals, finishing with a school-record 17 kicking points. A senior from Arapahoe High in Centennial, Calif., the 17 kicking points bettered Smith’s old record of 16 points last season at Black Hills State.
The 17 points are also the most a kicker has scored in a game this season in the RMAC. Against the Grizzlies, Smith made 50-yard, 48-yard, and 25-yard field goals. Smith is one of 21 Division II kickers this season to record a field goal of 50 or more yards and is tied for the second-longest field goal in the RMAC this season.
A senior linebacker from Arapahoe High School in Centennial, Colo.,
Ballas had nine total tackles (five solos) in Fort Lewis’ 30-16 setback to South Dakota Mines in Durango. He also had one tackle for loss (seven yards) and forced one fumble.
A freshman punter from San Jose, Calif.,
Moore punted five times for a career-high 52.8-yard average. He had two punts for over 50 yards in Northern Colorado’s 36-14 setback at Montana in Missoula, with two kicks inside the 20 and a 69-yard bomb for the second-longest kick in the Big Sky Conference this season.
During seventh-ranked Western Colorado’s 52-24 comeback win at New Mexico Highlands,
Roy initiated the Mountaineers’ 52-point run by throwing four straight touchdown passes. For the game, the fifth-year player from Colorado Springs Pine Creek High School completed 16 of 25 passes for 227 yards and five total scores.
